After what your dad and I saw at Fort Sill, and after your picture of living quarters in Kuwait, I'm pleasantly surprised to see that you have some space to yourself. That's got to up the odds that you'll come home sane. I know a bit of privacy would make a big difference to me.
I would guess the fan is going to be an essential piece of equipment, but I must say I'm surprised to see the iron occupying such a central position in a soldier's life. :-)

this is only half of the room. i have one room mate and that's his iron. but, yes, this is the best i've had it since i left indianapolis.

Was this shot before or after the inspection?
I've taken the tour around the photo and found your rifle, your juggling balls, the guitar (of course), the melodica, your roomate's girl scout cookies and Marlboroughs. What's in the picture frame?

nothing in the picture frame. i found it in the trash and i'm saving it for a good picture. those aren't my cigarettes, i swear.

What newspaper are you reading? I'm pretty impressed by the room, too. Actually, that is neat - by Runge kid standards, anyway ; ) No a/c, right? Is there a window? Yes, the fan will come in very handy. btw - the Easter Bunny is on his way! Love you!

the paper, my roomate's girlfriend sent him a copy of the NY Times. which is a great alternative to the army's version of a paper. the a/c is right by the door, out of frame. no window, however. from the outside its easy to see, the rooms are just the back of a semi trailer with a door put in.
