waiting for snow
waiting for snow
all the stockings were hung by the radar with cheer,
in the hopes that st. nick could get us out of here.

A long time ago I read a story by some travelers who were on a trip in moslem area and on Christmas eve they were feeling that strong longing for home and were having their traditional rite of reciting the bible verses relating to the birth of Jesus. They were quoting St. Luke and got stuck when they couldent remember the words and their Arab guide who was shareing their tent chimed in and finished the recitation. They of course were very surprised that he knew it better than they did. NJR

If you're waiting for snow, then getting back here will probably be the quickest way - we've got a ton of it now. Thursday night, it was snowing so much that I bet the kids a nickel that school would be delayed or closed. Well, you know Speedway Schools, and now I'm 15 cents poorer!

I wonder what some white spray paint would look like on that sand.

Hmmm. Maybe going back to Indiana is a better idea (The snowfall here was pitiful and ugly, and I don't think there was any snow at all around Ft. Sill). Is the word still that homecoming may happen soon? We're counting the days.

no one has any idea when we'll be home. the rest of the battery should make it by christmas, but our replacements are somewhere in kuwait, so it could be a few more weeks yet.
